Tandberg video integration
Tandberg issued a press release today on the integration of their videoconferencing solutions with Lotus Sametime 7.5.
NEW YORK and OSLO, Norway, August 28, 2006 – Taking advantage of the new functionality in IBM Lotus Sametime 7.5, TANDBERG (OSLO: TAA:OL) is working with IBM (NYSE: IBM) to deliver videoconferencing right from the PC. Working through familiar Lotus Sametime tools such as instant messaging (IM) and Web conferencing, users will be able to launch video calls from their PC at the click of button; providing organizations with scalable platform for energizing collaboration and speeding decision-making.

Lotus Sametime users with a PC webcam will be able to instantly connect to other video users, checking user presence and availability through the Lotus Sametime 7.5 Connect client, as well as escalate an IM or web-conferencing session into a real-time, face-to-face meeting. In addition, video calls can be launched from a PC to any standards-based, business-quality endpoint, further leveraging existing investment in video.
