Marketing Thought of the Day: Ads That Add Value

Image:Marketing Thought of the Day: Ads That Add Value
It's a morning of writing for me, and I've got Pandora running in the background to keep me company.

I was impressed with the advertising Palm is doing on the site.  As opposed to a static screenshot of the Pre, or a continuously looping demo, Palm is actually using their ad space to deliver value to me.  They've used the UI to show a listing of upcoming concerts near me, complete with a clickable "more info" button that takes me to a page to buy tickets (not a redirect to Palm).

Well done, Palm and Pandora. Now how about your advertising?  Is it delivering value to your viewers, or is it just pushing your point of view on them?

(Bonus tip of the day.  I recently installed the TabMixPlus plug-in for Firefox, as I found I kept accidentally opening a new window on the Pandora tab, killing the music.  It lets you protect or lock a tab, keeping the music playing.)
