"IBM on Monday announced a $200m software deal with a technology partner in Brazil, the biggest software deal of its kind this year, in the latest sign that emerging markets remain a notable bright spot for the technology industry....
"In the Brazilian deal, IBM said that Consist Software Solutions, a local software company that supplies applications to large and medium-sized companies throughout Latin America, had agreed to standardise all of its products to run on IBM technology, including its DB2 database and Websphere family of “middleware” products."

Financial Express:  Konkan Railway ropes in IBM for train management

"IBM Informix Dynamic Server has developed 'Railway Application Package' (RAP) system which helps to manage, analyse and maintain train running information, schedules and reduce the passenger delays. Real-time data is fed into the management system that uses smart analytics to respond to information in real time — whether it is scheduling delays, abnormalities or passenger queries....
"IBM software provides Konkan Railway with cost-effective performance, availability, requiring only two database administrators managing 66 database server instances."
