Ever wonder how long it takes a Best Buy POS station (Windows XP) to boot up?  

I was literally seconds away from completing my transaction - had swiped my credit card and everything - when some weird power surge/disruption momentarily knocked out the power to the store.  I would think they'd have the terminals on a UPS system, but I guess not.

(In a weird coincidence, my wife was on the phone with a store at the mall across the street and they were in the process of entering her credit card info when it happened, too.  Or maybe it was our fault to begin with :)
